SC220 MKII SETUP GUIDE
Start with the correct signal path instead of turning up every knob. This guide separates hardware gain, monitoring, the SC220 Live mix, and the final OBS level so clipping, weak signal, echo, or one-sided audio can be diagnosed faster.
Choose the closest goal. Every route starts with the source, input mode, hardware gain, monitoring, and only then software.
Dynamic or condenser microphones, phantom power, mono input, and recording level.
02 · STREAMINGInput capture, SC220 Live, VB-CABLE, monitoring, and pre-live checks.
03 · TWO PEOPLEInputs 1 and 2, separate gain, monitoring, and channel handling.
04 · INSTRUMENTJack input, instrument mode, pickup level, and monitoring without echo.
05 · LINE SOURCEProcessor L/R outputs, line input, PAD when needed, and neutral gain.
06 · USB OTGCables, power, apps, and compatibility limits that must be tested.
A software fader cannot repair an analog input that is already clipping. The monitor knob is not input gain.
Microphone, guitar, mixer, or karaoke processor. Know the source type and approximate level.
Select mic, line, or instrument. Enable +48 V only when required. Use PAD when a line source remains too strong.
Start low, raise it while watching the meter, and leave room for the loudest moment.
Set faders, mute, ducking, or DSP only after the hardware signal is clean and stable.
Use OBS or destination faders for final adjustment, then make a short test recording.
Button names and endpoint labels may vary by revision. Match the chassis label and the name that actually appears in Windows.
A generic store title or Windows endpoint name does not prove that two revisions have identical specifications or behavior.
| Check | What is reliable | What must not be assumed | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chassis or package label | The model and revision printed on the product. | Complete specifications without a datasheet. | Use as identity |
| Front and rear panel photos | Connector count, control labels, and physical layout. | Drivers, latency, preamp performance, or loopback. | Visual evidence |
| Windows device name | The endpoint detected on that particular PC. | That every batch or revision uses the same endpoint. | Record during test |
| Retail listing | The product claims currently published by the seller. | Measured performance or universal compatibility. | Needs confirmation |
| SC220 Live | A Windows routing and mixing application as documented. | MKII support before endpoint and channel-map testing. | Unverified |
BEFORE OPENING AN ISSUE
A model photo, Windows device name, input mode, sample rate, wiring, meter screenshot, and reproduction steps are more useful than “there is no sound”.
